Information about pets

Hallo, wir heissen Cookie, Mio & Lulu! Wir gehören zum Hotel Glacier und begrüssen auch alle anderen Vierbeiner ganz herzlich bei uns im Hotel du Glacier! Wir freuen uns, wenn du dich bei uns wohl fühlst und tun auch einiges dazu.

Here is some information for you when you come to visit us.

Your room, your kingdom!

We will gladly lend you a basket, a blanket or a sheepskin. You know: beds and upholstered furniture are exclusively for humans.

Please hang the specific dog sign on the door when you are alone in the room. This way you will not be disturbed.

The dark terry cloth is for your paws and fur.

There is an emergency pharmacy in the house with quite useful things:

• Charcoal biscuits (for example, if you've eaten too much snow and caught diarrhoea)
• Paw balm (in case it is too cold or too salty outside on the street)
• Bioflorin (for a balanced stomach) and
• SOS globules (against stress).

At the hotel

With the right behaviour, you can of course accompany your master or mistress to the restaurant, breakfast, lounge and all outdoor facilities.

Walking

In the village we all walk on a leash, because leashes are compulsory.

Please train your mistress or master to always have the dog poop/robidog bags with them and to pack your poop. This applies in the village, on the footpaths and in the snow.

The free dog waste/robidog bags are available in the green boxes everywhere.

Dog walking (summer and winter)

Around Fiesch and in the Aletsch Arena area there are many beautiful paths and trails to explore. In summer there are many mountain lakes to cool your paws and in winter beautiful winter hiking trails to romp around.

If you are a small-legged 4-pawed person, you travel for free on all trains. Otherwise your mistress or master will buy you a ticket at half price.

You are welcome in all mountain huts and restaurants.

Dog-Sitter

Your owner doesn't have time to take you out at the moment? Our people will be happy to find you a suitable replacement, who will look after you lovingly (for a fee and on request).

Dog food

There is a good selection of dog food at Migros and Coop in Fiesch.

Our kitchen crew will be happy to prepare your food fresh and à la carte (for a fee and on request).

Both Cookie and Mio, as well as our people, are happy to answer any questions you may have. We strive to give you a wonderful stay!

By the way: I, Cookie, am a mixed breed. My parents are Vizsla and Bleu Gascogne, but very few people know these two breeds. And I, Mio, am a Miniature Spitz. Black as the night we both are!
